The Caroline County Board of Supervisors and,
The Department of Economic Development announced today the recruitment of a new commercial investment in Caroline County, The CFC Farmer’s Cooperative. The Cooperative is a new store expansion of the Culpepper Farmer’s Cooperative located in Culpepper, Virginia.
The CFC Farmer’s Cooperative will be located on Rt. 1 near Rt. 207 in Carmel Church, less than a mile from Interstate 95, interchange 104.
The Farmer’s Cooperative will serve the agricultural-community and home owners in the region. The Cooperative will sell items essential for a wide variety of home, garden, and farm needs.
Caroline will especially benefit from the recruitment of the CFC Farmer’s Cooperative as the County is primarily a rural farming community that benefits from over $17 Million in agricultural sales.
The Culpepper firm will be investing nearly one million dollars in Caroline and hire 15 employees. The Cooperative will construct a 22,000 sq. ft. building.
The recruitment efforts to bring the Cooperative to Caroline took well over a year and was initiated by a networking contact at Virginia Heartland Bank’s Georgia Willis and Director of Economic Development, Gary Wilson.
Construction on the site is expected soon. The Cooperative also purchased land in addition to the acreage specifically required for their facility. Additional lots will be for sale by the Cooperative near and at the corner of Rt. 1 and Rt. 207.
The Department of Economic Development encourages additional investment at the site and will receive enquiries at 804.633.4074 and gwilson@caroline.va.us
