Facebook has nudged the traditional e-mail network as the favorite social medium used most by web voters.

In an online poll taken February 16 through March 2 that attracted 133 voters, 35 percent of web voters said Facebook is their most favorite way to communicate in this era of technology. Traditional e-mail gathered 33 percent of the vote, while using the telephone was the choice for 20 percent of the voters.

Texting was most used by 11 percent of the voters, and only two percent are using Twitter on a regular basis. No votes were received for using blogs.

Visitors to the Caroline County government website, www.visitcaroline.com, are invited to participate in web polls regardless of whether they are Caroline County residents or not. Only one vote per visitor is requested.
