NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING


PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE CODE OF CAROLINE COUNTY CHAPTER 103 TAXATION, ARTICLE VII, TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX

 

The Caroline County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, beginning at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Community Services Center Auditorium, located at 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia, to consider the amendment of Chapter 103 Taxation, Article VII, Transient Occupancy Tax of the Code of Caroline County. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to change the due date for transient occupancy filing forms to the Commissioner of the Revenue’s Office to the 20th of each month to make the due date for local filers match the state mandated due date for lodging intermediaries. There is also a general rewrite of the ordinance to include all necessary language for lodging intermediaries.


Any person desiring to be heard in favor of or in opposition to the request is hereby invited to be present at the public hearing. Those citizens with special needs are asked to contact County Administration at (804) 633-5380 at least 5 days prior to the hearing.
