CAROLINE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Caroline County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, beginning at 7:30 p.m., in the Community Services Center, Auditorium, located at 17202 Richmond Turnpike, Milford, Virginia, to consider the following:

Proposed Amendments to Chapter 93-1 (Schedule of Fees and Levies for Public Utilities) of the Code of Caroline County 

The purpose of the proposed amendments to the County Code are summarized as follows.

On January 1, 2021, the base fees for both water and sewer, water and sewer usage rates, and the administrative fee will increase by 5%.  Also, the capital asset fee will be set as follows.

Septage will increase from $36.75 to $40.00 per 1,000 gallons.

In addition, on July 1, of each of the following years, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 the base fees for both water and sewer, water and sewer usage rates, the administrative fee, capital asset fee, and septage will increase by 5% each year.

Dawn System – Sewer User Fees

On January 1, 2021, the one equivalent residential connection base fee shall increase from $28.35 to $30.50.  Also, an administrative fee of $0.56 and a capital asset fee of $4.50 shall be included in each monthly billing.  

In addition, on July 1, of each of the following years 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 the one equivalent residential connection base fee, the administrative fee, and the capital asset fee will increase by 5% each year.

Deposits in advance, refundable after the final bill is paid

Residential/Commercial – On January 1, 2021, deposits shall be $70.00 for water and $180.00 for sewer

All other fees and rates set forth in the ordinance will remain the same.

Sections 15.2-107, 15.2-1427, and 15.2-2119 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, grants the legal authority for the enactment of the fees and charges set forth above.
