Route 639 (Ladysmith Road) Roadway Reconstruction and Widening Caroline County Design Public Hearing

Find out about the proposed project to widen Route 639 (Ladysmith Road) to four lanes with a raised median between Interstate 95 and Route 1 in Caroline County.  The project will include new traffic signal equipment and pedestrian accommodations on Route 639.

Stop by between 5-7 p.m. to review the proposed plans and the prepared National Environmental Policy Act document.  Project plans are available for review at VDOT's Fredericksburg District Office at 87 Deacon Road, Fredericksburg, VA  22405, in Stafford County.  Please call 540-899-4288 ahead of your visit to ensure appropriate personnel are available to answer your questions.

Property impact information, relocation assistance policies and tentative construction schedules are available for your review at the District Office and will be available at the public hearing.

In compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 106 and 36 CFR Part 800, information concerning the potential effects of the proposed project on properties listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places is provided in the environmental documentation.
