Mattaponi Clean Up Crew

This past Saturday, May 13, a group did a litter cleanup at three river access sites on the Mattaponi in upper Caroline County.  Stream Sweepers, a river maintenance and restoration job corps, organized the event, with volunteers from the Ladysmith Boy Scout troop and Quantico Marine Base.  The group went to sites on Stonewall Jackson Road, Paige Road, and Nelson Hill Rd (Milford).  They got 17 tires, a car bumper, an old trailer axle and a truckload of trash. After, they were all treated to all you can eat pizza at Pizza Hut. It was a fun and successful day.
