State Corporation Commission to Hold Public Hearing on Aqua VA Rate Increase Application

STATE CORPORATION COMMISSION TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON AQUA VIRGINIA RATE INCREASE APPLICATION IN LADYSMITH

Bowling Green, Va. – Caroline County received notification on December 20, 2017 that the State Corporation Commission (SCC) has scheduled a hearing to receive comments from the public on Aqua Virginia’s application (“the Application”) for a rate increase and water and wastewater infrastructure service charge (WWISC) for 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on April 4, 2018, in the Ladysmith Community Center Gymnasium located at 7278 Ladysmith Road, Ruther Glen, Virginia.

At the request of the Board of Supervisors, the County requested the SCC to hold a hearing in Ladysmith in closer proximity to the majority of Aqua Virginia customers in Caroline County.

Members of the public may provide comments on the Application by testifying under oath at the Ladysmith hearing or at a hearing scheduled to convene in the Commission’s Courtroom in Richmond, Virginia on April 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.  Any person desiring to testify as a public witness at one of the hearings should appear fifteen (15) minutes prior to one of the start times and identify himself or herself to the Commission’s Bailiff.
