On Friday, September 28, Town of Bowling Green Chief of Police David Lipscomb was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) at their annual awards ceremony for his excellence and diligence in the apprehension and prosecution of impaired drivers.  The ceremony was held at Stratford Hall Plantation.  Mayor Jason Satterwhite, who accompanied Lipscomb to the ceremony, stated, "We enjoy a good reputation for being a safe place for families and visitors alike.  The good work by our police chief helps us preserve that reputation and we couldn't be more proud."  Chief Lipscomb had a total of 24 DUI arrests, with a 100% conviction rate in 2017.  While this is Chief Lipscomb's 5th MADD award, it is the first time an officer from the Town of Bowling Green Police Department has received this prestigious award.

Chief Lipscomb stated, "I am delighted to be recognized for this award on a personal level.  I am even more delighted that the Bowling Green Police Department was recognized as an agency that takes impaired driving seriously.  It goes to show that even in a small town, impaired drivers cannot get away with endangering the lives of our motoring public."
